Ride 2 Torrey (Photos) Utah tour is 800 + miles. This is a fast paced trip through canyons, mountain summits reaching 10,000 elevations, actually a few of them. This trip can be done in 2 or 3 days as options go, especially if you're considering stopping at Bryce, Cedar Breaks and Zion, yes definitely 3 days easily. For the most part though, we make this ride in 2 long days. You'll be plenty wore out as it's 9 hours of driving time a day with-out many breaks except for gas and lunch. If we leave at 7am, we'll be there by 5pm. If this is planned around holidays, such as Memorial weekend, there will be unwanted traffic, so it's best to plan away from these types of 3 day weekends. Not only that but there usually are NO hotels available unless booked well in advanced.

We'll run through Cedar Canyon, Cedar Breaks (roads permitting), Panguitch Lake, Bryce Canyon, areas of Dixie National Forest, Capital Reef and Zion National Park. We'll cross hundreds of mountainous twisters, grazing meadows, cow pastures, ranches and small town atmospheres. For those that know parts of this ride, it's their favorite of all rides.  This being said, it's summer tour, possibly to late fall. Even around the last of May some roads are closed due to snow. There will always be a chance that unforeseen weather can change the course of this trip.

You should be an experienced rider for this trip and able to endure many miles in one day at a fast pace through mountainous terrain. Usually, riders who've done this in a day have most likely done several hundred miles in a day. We'll encounter animals such as Cows, Elk and Deer and several other furry creatures along the roads. We'll take a few photos but not hundreds, this is just for the ride - "The Ride 2 Torrey". Total Miles: 800 / 381 Miles Each Way :)... give or take a few.

When we did this trip the first time, we stopped quit a bit and didn't get into Torrey until late, most likely around 10pm or so. As it was, well into the dark, traveling around 50 mph, which for us is on the slow side but we were trying to be safe and good thing when an Elk the size of 62 Buick trickled onto the road in front of me, stretching completely across the lane. Fortunately I was able to stop, but it shook me up. We stopped in this small town, sharing the story and with an attendant, when a guy next to me said, "I've been riding these roads for 19 years and wouldn't make the trip you're making tonight". We had another 72 miles or so to go, so we took our time across Hog Back with thousand foot drops on both sides of the mountain and no guard rails, which is the setting most everywhere including switchbacks. I'm setting here a year later writing this and can still see this thing chewing his cud, staring into my headlights.

Below are a few of the photos taken on recent trips. This is a GREAT trip, the best we've ever had but it's a long trip. Hence, this is our flagship of overnights. It's a simple 2 or (3 day option) trip covering 800+ miles of rich mountainous beauty and some desert plateau. We'd like to thank the folks at MotorcycleRoads.com for providing us with their thoughts about parts of this journey.

A few photos: Cedar Breaks

As you can see below, Ania's enjoying the corners and there's plenty of them to be had. We don't have much of a place to practice in Vegas, so we're making the best of it. Utah has some great country for motorcycle riding. Pick a road, there all fun.

Hundreds More Bryce Photos...

As you drive into Bryce, you start to get a taste of what HooDoo's really are and how big and precarious they stand.

Ride 2 Torrey Utah

Right off the bat, I must say that Utah has some live stock next to the highways. All kinds of stuff, like deer, elk, dogs, cats, sheep... you name it. Just a word of up, be careful because much of it can be seen laying next to the road from being hit. Talk with anyone that lives up here and they have a story to tell about hitting deer.

Southern Utah Motorcycle Roads: Capitol Reef Inn - Torrey - This was a nice place to stay, we really liked it. When we come back, we'll stay here. When we arrived the night before, no one's at the office, no one can be found to show us our room and my wiffee is showing signs of discontent. After about 20 minutes this guy shows up and says, "hey, I left your key under the mat, I was at a party".

Haha... just let us in cuz we're tired :), - next time we'll know better and look for the room with a light on and key under that mat. Not a problem.

.

Below is a room if you can believe it. It holds about 6 people and they rent it out to groups. It was rented when we were staying here, as you can see from the tip of the car peeking out from the right side. This design is on purpose, I forget what's it's called but it's fully finished.

We'll, as that time comes, it's time to move along on day 2. We ran into an entire day of rain on the way back.

Lots of rain.... time to get wet with no Frog Tog's on hand. Our leathers held up nicely though.

Below you can see the endless miles of roads how they peek up, down and around the valley. There are hundreds of these, and just bad timing as it's raining.

When you gotta go, you gotta go. Going to the bathroom a van full of people pulled around the corner all taking photos. Great...

As you can see below, I really had to go ;). Even Ania is amazed.

Just gotta love her, she's so cute on her Busa!

She's still smiling... and why not she's got a great husband and brand new Hayabusa.

Just look at these photos.... haha, wow what beautiful stomping grounds for a ride. I know guys that ride this and turn around and do it again 3 or 4 times a summer.

And the saga continues with hundreds of photos.... that one page cannot contain.

The next location we'd most likely visit would be Zion National Park. Or was that left back there? :)
