The Ultimate in motorcycle luxury. Every now and then a
bike comes along that defines a certain type of riding, for
long-distance riding in comfort and style, the BMW K1200LT is
undoubtedly the king of the road. It’s big, It’s bad and smooth as a
baby’s bottom.
In 1999 the K 1200 LT received the “Motorcycle of the Year” award from
Rider Magazine. The Robb Report named it the “Best of the Best”, and
Cycle World named the LT the “Best Touring Bike”.
Quality is Heavy
Weighing in at over 780lbs, the K1200LT doesn’t exactly turn on a dime,
but with typical BMW innovations such as the Telelever front end
suspension which greatly reduces brake dive and a reverse system to help
you back into tight parking spots, this bike is definitely manageable.
The Patented rear Paralever suspension system is responsible for the
effortless, gliding motion of the bike on the highway. Power assisted
ABS breaks and a 4-cylinder, 1171cc inline engine producing an
eye-popping 116hp make the K1200LT both powerful and safe. Other
features include flat-screen display, six-disc CD changer, adjustable
height chrome passenger footrests, heated handgrips, cruise control,
Xenon headlight, and 2 electrical sockets for various accessories |
