| We'll get an early start on our

from Las Vegas for four days and three nights!
Your motorcycle guide(s) will help you find a better experience running
through some great roads and world famous travel spots while vacationing in Las Vegas.
This is an awesome 5 STAR Motorcycle Tour. The Rider/The Tour: The participant of this motorcycle tour should be at least an intermediate rider, with a few thousand miles under his/her belt. More .... We're going to have a nice time, we'd like to have friendly riders join us. There is much to see and enjoy on great motorcycle roads of Arizona and Nevada. What are some of the areas? Well... This guided motorcycle tour is around 955+ miles. One of the rules we made for ourselves when plotting out the area was, "no roads twice", so for the most part we were able to accomplish the task except for a couple of instances that couldn't be avoided. The scheduled trip however, will take four days and three nights to complete. We'll take a drive down famous historical route 66. We'll see first hand the most beautiful areas of the natural world. We'll ride the scenic roads and majestic mountain sides of unparalleled landscapes anywhere, not just a peek at the ocean once in a while as seen on some motorcycle tours or a ride down the interstate. Yes, this is an exciting four days of riding and scenic beauty in the states of Arizona and Nevada. We'll see every type of road condition with literally hundreds of twists, and long sweeping curves that are seen in unusual pathways, shadowed roads from mountains and trees, roads made in the error of 1912 that are still usable and covered with dirt. One thing is for sure, the State of Arizona can plot and build roads anywhere. Day 1 - 275 Miles - First day out of the box we'll be needing to use up some energy, because we need to cover some ground to get ourselves as close as possible to our riding areas. We'll truck south for Oatman then ride north to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We'll find scenic drives with plenty of views while we keep moving towards our hotel destination for the first night. Day 2 - 185 Miles - Day 2 will be the WOW factor of long sweep across much of Arizona, and most likely, one of the best days on the seat of a motorcycle you'll ever experience as we cruise threw some of the best, highly twisted roads along the sides and tops of mountains and long sweeping curves through the canyons. At one point there is said to have over 430 curves on AZ Road 191 between Clifton and Alpine. Day 3 - 247 Miles - Day 3 will no doubt bring further visions of the canyons beautiful park vistas, twisted highways, plateaus of forestry parks and hopefully not to much animal life on the road with more motorcycle highways. Day 4 - 248 Miles - On the final day we'll start heading back along parts of Route 66 and Hoover Dam Total 955 Miles |

Below is a picture of historical road route 66 near Oatman that travels across parts of the Black Mountains, which is mostly desert. It would be nice to see them fix this road instead of filling in the cracks but it is one of the roads on our tour. It requires much caution due to the hairpin turns AND switchbacks. So, this is the little road that will get us warmed up as we get ready to explore every type of road condition, every curve, every twisted hairpin switch back. Is there such a thing as a twisted hairpin switchback? We'll I'm afraid to say, yes, and it's not pretty but you'll find every bit of a statement like that and more in a little town called, "Oatman" that is located on historical route 66 just outside of Laughlin Nevada. Laughlin has the yearly annual, "Laughlin Run" that many people have come to enjoy, except for myself. I've found it to be a climate of violence and attitudes. Oatman

Where would we be with-out having the Jus Brothers Motorcycle group present
Oh NO, he got-em
Great little shops to browse and pick-up a few, Route 66 souvenirs like leather goods, t-shirts, belts, hats, key-chains and so forth. I got a great XXL t-shirt for $4.75!
El Donkeys combing the streets looking for hand-outs. Vendors sell carrots to feed them. They were warning folks not to get to close to the back legs as they kick and not to feed the baby donkeys carrots, as they choke.
The picture is a bit blurry below because I was being chewed out for taking photos in the small gift shop by Bob's employee... Anyways, (Below) Bob from Tama's Rt 66 Biker Den, tells some interesting stories about the hwy we were about to traverse. He said, "Last month, 5 motorcycles went over the edge. People just get to looken at the sites and not paying attention to the road. There are 2" rocks on the road and different types of gravel that cause riders to loose their grip to the road. Last Sunday 3 motorcycles in one day went over the edge including one Honda Trike. One motorcycle tour operator just got done talking to the group before the Honda Trike went over the edge. We've come to call this the Oh-My-God Road," instead of something with a term of blood in it. Tama's RT 66 - Biker Den - (928) 768-9841
Past Lives In Oatman - Olive Oatman part of the Royce Oatman family members killed by raiding indians of the past.
Oatman Hotel
Oatman is just out-side of Laughlin, Nevada and a real joy to visit.
Lets take a look at Historic Route 66 out of Oatman.
As you can see, the road is in need of repairs but it really could be worse. Below is a nice attempt of a wall to keep people from taking the plunge. Bob from Bikers Den, said "You have the mountain on your side headed from West to East". I really didn't know what he meant until we started down the road and noticed that instead of hugging the shoulder, we had the mountain to hug, which definitely proved to be true. Ok, Bob got us a little nervous but in the end, WOW what a Motorcycle Road, we really enjoyed the ride. Here's a few more photos of the trip from Oatman.
Ok, enough about Oatman, lets kick it in gear! Historic Route 66 Be sure and check out Road Kill Cafe featuring
Had some really strong winds while crossing this most glorious prairie of US Historic Route 66. As you can see the road is really quite. You pass unusual old pieces of equipment just tossed out in the fields and left from years past. You get a sense of how it must have been to live in the old days.
Day 2 - Arizona Parks & Canyons Guided Tour starts off with refreshing roads around lakes.
Happy Jack Lodge
Getting Around takes quite an arsenal of mapping equipment. Only thing I've yet to stick on it, is a coffee cup holder.
Outstanding places to ride which we'll have on video
4 Layers of Curves From the top...
Hungry and ready to knaw on the edge of a wall we stopped at Outback Steak House in Flagstaff for a bite to eat. Wow, what a waitress, guess she had a bad day.
Nothing like a plate of blood for dinner... phooey. We had better eats...
Day 3 - On our way to Hoover Dam - We enjoyed the ride so much we forgot to stop and get photos...
Colorado River - Overlook
Got a bit hot today and against my better judgment decided to strip off some leather. For this type of weather I have a Draft Jacket by Tourmaster that allows air to flow-through the jacket that is loaded with armor. Unfortunately, room is limited on a sport bike for what you can bring. Interestingly enough, our journeys take us to the tops of mountains where temperatures drop from really-cold to the next valley, really-hot. Just yesterday, Ania was wearing the Tourmaster electric liner and electric gloves for driving comfort on top of the canyon pass and by the time you get to the bottom are stripping it all off.
Three layers of road at Hoover Dam
This Guided Tour to the Arizona Parks and Canyons was a delight. We can't wait to go back and tackle the areas with more photos.
